We hope this message finds you and your family healthy and safe. I know many of you are anxious regarding the education of your child during these unprecedented times. We provided individual learning packets from March 13th to May 1st to continue teaching and learning at home. We also created online learning opportunities through Google Classroom as another option. Online access is not mandatory, so please do not worry if you are unable to participate online. Learning packets can be returned to GEWES any time. A clear bin is located in front of the school to return packets.
On May 4th, parents may pick up the final packet, which is a workbook. To prevent summer learning loss with your child, we’re offering you the opportunity to use the guided daily practice activities in this workbook. Most activities correspond with the skills children have achieved or are developing at their grade level. It comes with an answer key, flash cards and other learning tools.
Pickup Times for the packet are May 4 – 5 from 8:00am to 6:00pm at George E Washington. OR You may pick up the packet at Springfield Baptist Church (304 Carter Street) in Greenville on May 4th from 11:30am – 2:00pm.
Section 1 of the workbook is due the last week of school, beginning May 18th. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and Website for fun-filled activities the last week of school. Some of the events include a virtual field day and rewards program.
If you prefer, you can participate in remote learning provided through Google Classroom. Contact your child’s teacher for more information on how to use Google Classroom. Please understand students are not required to do both the packet and online assignments. Parents can choose which activity they want to use.
