Today marked the end of our canned food drive for the Meriwether County Animal Shelter Food Drive.  Ms. Felts, our most special, Gifted teacher, headed up this event to raise canned food for cats and dogs at Unity, Mountain View, and George E. We held a friendly competition to see who could bring in the most food.

At GEWES, the class with the most cans wins a pizza party. Our first place winner was Mrs. Hayes’ 5th grade homeroom. They brought at total of 180 cans.

The total number of cans collected at GEWES was 659.

Altogether, the elementary schools raised 3,145 cans.

We are so thankful to all of you who donated. Together, we are helping shelter dogs have the life they deserve. We encourage you to adopt your next pet, and help save a life!
